Wall is better than Irving?
Hayward will get a nickname by year end. Larkin looks like an interesting bench piece
perhaps "the REAL white mamba"
Wall is better than Irving, but GH (who really really needs a cool nickname) is better than Wall.
Plus big Al is underrated on these boards.
Hayward is not better than Wall and not really directly comparable either. He is good, but not that good.
Do The Celtics Have Enough Star Power To Win a Title? Not Yet.
VORP likes Wall
BPM and Win share both preferred hayward last year.
The bottom line is, both are clearly and unambiguously better than Kyrie.
Kyrie isn't even Starbury yet.
I like advanced stats as much as anybody, but they aren't everything. The eye test shows me a willing passer able to take over a game in wall, and a very good player who plays within offensive flow and structure in Hayward. I love Hayward and I think he is a winner, but I don't think he is a franchise player. Wall is that.
Kyrie, Hayward and Horford isn't winning shit, honestly. And they don't have much depth, a lot of youngsters for depth.
No but when most of them say something and the numbers seem to back up common sense with a few interesting tweaks, we should probably listen.
Look at that 538 article. That list looks pretty darn accurate for the best players in the league.
As for the “eye test”, the untrained eye thinks kyrie is better than GH...so screw the untrained eye.
You know where I stand on Kyrie. However, there are basketball lifers like Ainge who think he is great. I think they are wrong, but we will find out for sure soon enough.
For the record though, I think it is pretty close between GH and Kyrie. But I do prefer GH.
That's because you're a flat earth denier.
Eh.
I am not talking about the untrained eye though.

Those two draft picks that Boston got is the big question mark that will tell the tale - How quickly they develop and what they produce. If the bench for Washington can still produce in spite of the age, they should be okay, but Boston looks like they have developed more than Washington to me
Yeah, I just from an objective point of view believe the Celtics are ready to play at a higher level than WashingtonDon't forget that the C's acquired Daniel Theis. Dude was the defensive player of the year last season with Germany. Dude is 6'9" 245 lbs can explode to the basket, has a pure 3 point jumper and dunks over everyone. His first preseason game he led the C's with 12 points 7 reb and 3 ast. I had no idea who the fuck he was but he looked like an all star caliber player on the court. C's young guns are insanely good right now. Taytum should be the starting SG IMO.
