I thought the oline would be improved, and that would lead to the offense picking up the slack of the defensive losses

You also thought the Lions would have a top 10 D. But so did a lot of people. I think Austin's HC interview tour got a lot of peoples hopes up.

I think I said top 10 as well. It was a steep drop to get to 10, I never thought they would over shoot it

I was 15-10 range... Still way way off. Austin gave me hope because I saw what he did with same players Gunther couldn't. Suh has proved he does not make the D alone.

With Austin, he showed what he can do with the right personnel. He not only lost Suh, but Levy Mosley, Johnson, and fat ass Fairley. Huge pieces to the success. Suh was the beast of the D.

With that said, I still feel with Suh and minus Ngata this defense still sucks with these players here now. It takes 11-13 of the right guys and rotation guys to make a top rank D. Not just a superstar or two. Dolphins are finding out this year, as are the Seahawks.

Lions replaced all those pieces with IMO rotational players.

I was guilty of this one. Sims and Dom replaced had to be a improvement. I'm not sure the Packer game will reveal everything going forward of what they have with this group. I am eager to see the group after weeks of practical few changing up from Lombardi's scheme.

Smitty will love this one...

Best thing about Jim Bob, he knows not to bother giving AA handoffs.

(That one will haunt me in a couple weeks when he fumbles three times.)

* Van Noy could become #3, but it's still early. I was a proponent of his and was excited when we took him. I think he could still become a good player.

Haven't even recalled seeing the guy make a play in a year and a half.

I predicted 10-6 for the 2015-16 season. I must have been real :doobs:

Don't feel bad, I don't drink or smoke. Same prediction at one point and only went to 9-7 with no Levy.

Agreed. Not only rotational type players, but then losing those players to injury and having to play their backups as starters. Add in, no Levy and Tulloch looking much slower coming off knee surgery and it is a disaster.

I hope the Lions don't screw things up down the stretch and start winning some games. We need every pick we can get -- the higher the choice, the better.

I blame the Lions preseason. Abdullah looked like he could actually run the ball. Detroit's offensive line looked good against vanilla fronts and Stafford looked great when he had time to throw.

It isn't fair -- all these teams are blitzing and confusing our high character players on the OL. :suds:

I don't think anyone thought our offense would lead the league in turnovers and our OL would be one of, if not, the worst in the league.

Lions would be A LOT better w Suh. He masked all these guys weaknesses. The guys Gandy names are just bodies. Suh is the only guy this team truly misses and the proof is in the pudding. 31st ranked run D half way through the season at 1-7.

Not sure why not. They sucked last year and got no one new on offense but a rookie RB.

So what happened to Miami? They have faced one of the easiest schedules, yet by adding Suh to their top 12 defense of a year ago -- they are ranked 24th overall and they are worse off in every statistical category?

Wouldn't adding Suh make the Dolphins A LOT better than 3-4 or does that only work when it is hypothetical?

They were learning a new offense last year, had a lot of new pieces on the OL. I thought a full year in the system -- everyone would be on the same page and understand their jobs. Instead -- it was the polar opposite this year. The OL looks like they don't have any idea who to block. Instead of Bush and Bell fumbling -- it is Abdullah and Stafford can't figure out which team to throw the ball to.

They won't win games because I said that -- they will win games because they are the Lions and they find a way to screw everything up.

They haven't faced one of the easiest schedules. They had a shitty HC and fired him.

Why you think Suh would be the same player here now w the same stats idkw.

Lions lose their best player and we want to blame the absence of George Johnson and CJ Mosely for 1-7.
