The final preseason game is the regular preseason annual event with the New York Giants. Some old friends are playing there and and as always are trying to let the Patriots know how wrong they were to let them get away.

The Giants have a few missing pieces. Odell Beckham has a severe ankle sprain and hopes to be back for the opener, but it looks like he may miss the first couple of games.

Third-year defensive end Owa Odighizuwa was suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the league's performance enhancing drugs policy. He's only had 18 combined tackles but is a prominent part of the Giants vaunted front seven.

This game historically has been an agreement by both sides to give the bottom half of the teams' rosters a final shot at displacing a veteran or two.

This game is THURSDAY night..........at 7:30 EST in Foxboro, MA.

The one thing I really want to see and hope to see is Carr in the slot. A lot of Carr in the Slot, I want the Pats to make him there Slot Slut.

Owa is suspended for the first four games for substance violations. 18 combined tackles over three years. No thank.

Owa's only played in the league 2 years and was injured most of the first one. He's got the size and he's got talent. Might be Ealy 2.0, but at least this time would only cost claiming his rookie contract to find out (even less if he clears waivers). Wouldn't be the first guy to blossom after a fresh start. The suspension isn't helpful, but still worth a look, IMO.

Jimmy in the 1st Q and then JB for the rest of the game. Let him just sling the ball all night. No need for starters to be out there.

From all indications, the starters will play two series each on offense and defense, then the backups will play two-three series. The remainder of the game will be everyone else trying to nail down a roster spot or a Practice squad spot.

The realization that the thumb, index and half of his middle finger are gone has set in. He's trying to be the same light-hearted joker, but I think he's starting to understand what he's not going to be able to do. Like pick up a fork or grab a glass. He's still heavily bandaged and those are not coming off until next Friday.

I think he'll be shocked when actually sees what he has left to work with.

That will not be easy. I wish you and your family all the best and hope the difficult stuff goes by fast.

Wow, what happened?

We are finding out some very disturbing info today.

Insurance company is investigating. This is a brand new mower.
The blade only engages and turns if the driver is seated. The interlock
mechanism doesn't allow the blade to turn. The blade has an interlock that doesn't
allow for sticks and rocks to be cast from the mower. There should have been
no way for the blade to turn when he and his helper went to check the blade.
Apparently someone in the shop bypassed the interlock and my son in law cut off
his thumb, index and half of his middle finger because someone jimmied the
mower blade interlock.

The insurance company has notified OSHA and the lawnmower manufacturer is livid
because the interlock is not supposed to be able to be bypassed. That's a huge selling
point. So there's a ton of liability. Manufacturer, whoever told the shop mechanic to
bypass the interlocks and the shop mechanic for bypassing the interlock and not telling the operators.

Six, seven zeros???

Please tell me it's only one hand. That law suit will be ugly as the defendant will throw out that you never stick your hand in a mower despite safe guards. I truly hope he gets what he deserves. I'd start with his lifetime earning potential.

Well that really sucks but why in the name of all things holy would he stick his hand under there with the mower powered up? Was it part of a maintenance requirement? Jesus man it's gonna be hard as hell to pinch a joint now.

Dominant hand I assume?

That really sucks. Wishing him the best and fastest recovery.
Also wishing him the speediest and fairest settlement. Insurance companies DO NOT want to pay anything but their lawyers.
