Why does everyone have to shit all over NIU? Do we already forget that our Hokies were shit on just the same last year? Louisville is comparable to NIU. Wisconsin has one less loss than us. The schools approved this system and the human polls voted to make them eligible. Why cry for Oklahoma the one time their name doesn't give them what they want? NIU played by the rules that everyone who matters agreed to.

Because there is a big gap between the BIG10, BIG12, SEC, and PAC-10 and everyone else including the ACC and Big East. Then there is a difference between the ACC/Big East and the MAC. Who cares if they got in fairly because of the rules, they still are undeserving.

VT looks a whole lot like barf this year but they're in a bowl game they deserve to be in. Rutgers will probably give us all we can handle and I'd prefer it if LT had a decent showing for a change. I don't expect the run game to suddenly improve

It would be much more accurate to include the B1G with the ACC/Big East this season. Aside from tOSU, they pretty much suck too.

Me -- I like to root for the little guy. It's not their fault that:
a) they're stuck playing in a shitty conference (9 or so of their games)
b) they have a hard time finding good teams to play them for the other 3 games

They lost a game, won their conference .. fuck it .. It's good for college football to have parity.

It's not like a Boise St situation where they have a tough OOC opponent or 2, win those games, and blow everyone out in their own conference. Look at the margin of victory in some of those. On paper this looks like the worst BCS team probably ever

I agree that that is the rules set in place by the system..and comparing the VT team last year AND this NIU is not fair.

Team gets into a BCS game, based upon the agreed rules. Media and other fans whine about said team being in said bowl. Fans of said team don't give a shit. After a few months no one gives a shit anyway.

No one "deserves" anything in this system (except for perhaps Notre Dame, who is undefeated). Subjective critique of NIU's schedule is no different the the subjective critique of the teams we beat last season, or any other atlarge or non-AQ team over the years. It's a series of requirements being met or not met that results in eligiblity, automatic entry, or lack there of. Beyond those basic requirements, there is no deserving of anything. Ask 5-loss Wisconsin, 2004 Pitt, 2005 FSU, and 2011 UConn. I'm not arguing that NIU is a good team. I'm just saying there is no point in manufactoring drama over this year after year.

They raped their conference. My cousin went to UB so I follow them and the MAC pretty close. NIU is a good team. I wouldn't take FSU and give the points... at least, not with a lot of money on the line.

Only good thing about being stationed out here in Nevada is that gambling is legal. Makes it easy to place bets and not have to worry about online sportsbooks.

Just noticed that Bowling Green who we beat 37-0 early in the year when the defense was crap went 6-2 in the MAC (NIU conference) I know the ACC is weak compared to the Big 4 but that is a whole other level of weak
