With Richards, are you buying that he is completely shot or do you think other factors play into it? The other factors being:

Can't handle the pressure of playing for a big market team: Possible, after all he played for years in Tampa Bay and Dallas, not exactly hockey hotbeds.

Possibly playing with an injury we don't know about: Maybe he's been playing hurt and needs some sort of surgery in the offseason?

Hates his coach and has mailed it in: He's in my opinon a top 5 passer in the league and Torts has him laying down in front of shots on D. I don't think these 2 like one another at all.

Would you take a risk of signing him to a 3 year, $9 million deal or do you think he's shot?

Heard somewhere that he spent a lot of time down the shore doing charity work for victims of Sandy. During this time, lots of players were playing overseas or training. Could be when lockout was over, he wasn't in shape and never got to the level needed. You have a crunched schedule and he never caught up to everyone else. All speculation.

if he really hates torts then why did he sign there? this is only 2 years ago we are talking about here. blocking shots certainly isnt helping the cause either

i heard about that too rp and i'm sure that is one of the reasons because he wasnt in game shape.

i dont think he gets bought out this year. if he tanks it again next year he is getting bought out.

to answer the question yeah i would risk a contract on him. worst case move him down to the 3rd line and he can play with clarkson.

as we seen with gomez and will see with louongo anyone get traded

Yeah but if they buy him out next year it counts against the cap.

Also, as to why he would sign if he didn't like Torts, he probably wouldn't have known at the time of signing. It may have occurred over the past 2 years. That's assuming there is a rift there.

Couldn't ask for a better conference finals hockey wise..and if Chicago somehow gets out of the west the SC Finals are gonna be great.

Final four, who are we taking in each conference?

I'd actually like to see a Pitt/Chicago Stanley Cup. Good for ratings, help promote the league, and it'll be a nice skills competition to draw in the casual fan.

the only matchup that wont draw as much "interest" would be kings/bruins to a lesser extent kings/pens.

hawks/pens/bruins are all a good matchup.

say hawks/bruins. hawks win the cup

Anybody catch the whole game? I tapped out after regulation. What a comeback for the Hawks, down 2 goals in the third, I have to be honest I thought they were done for. The Bruins have been so solid defensively and are just so physical I thought there was no chance Chicago could recover being down 2.
