I find it funny how so many prognosticators just pencil in the easy picks for the championships.

Everyone is afraid to go out on a limb and pick someone out of the blue even though out of the blue teams seem to make it quite often.

North Carolina in the Orange Bowl would be a major shock. I can see them losing 3 games.

Yeah, I don't know about authoritiii's statement that "out of the blue teams make it quite often." Make it to what? Surely not the national championship game...it's pretty much like you said, it's the same limited number of teams with a legit shot every year.
