PGA Update

I'm watching the live coverage online...Woods, Bradley and Love are the morning feature group...so far 67 is in the clubhouse by Garrigus... the -5 lead is shared by Furyk, and Hearn.

Tiger is looking decent -1 thru...but bogey on par 5 and missing the short birdie attempt on probably has him frustrated...Bradley is even and Davis is +2...hanging in there.

I found it. First thing I saw was Woods hitting a big ol fat iron off the tee and cursing. God I love it!

Jason Dufner shot 68 today. Nice to see him playing well again.

The short miss for birdie had him steaming...overswung missed a driver right on the par 5 coming in...he lost it on the missed putt.

Bradley hung in there and so did DL3...68 is posted now, but Furyk could better it...nice to see Toms playing again...I was at the '01 PGA he won.

Mickelson hacking his way around at 3 over after 4. Hasn't hit a fairway or green yet.

I think TV will have him, but this online stuff seems to following 1 group. Scott is lighting it up...I hate the long putter...hope this guy can keep it going when it goes away...the swing Tiger wish he had kept!...

Lots of very good scores but you never know how this will turn out since this is only the first day. Remember during the British Open Z Johnson looked like he was going to run away with things. This is what makes the Majors so much fun - things changing over the course of four days. If McIlroy does have a good tourney - good for him - he has had a great attitude in spite of the crap he endures from the press (& those comments by Gary Player were just flat out stupid) Enjoy.

Wow - looks like Mickelson finished exactly like Tiger. Double bogied his last hole & they are both at +1 - 6 shots back. I see lots of lead changes in the days ahead. Anybody's guess as to who will win this one.

BTW - that Eagle by Kaymer was pretty incredible.

The long putter is the one thing that bothers me about Scott. Did you see him pull that monster out when he was looking for two club lengths of relief from that tree? that seems unfair.

Geez, Mickelson did all that work to come back from that horrendous start and then throws it all away on a ridiculous gamble on 18. he does that way too much.

Yes. It will be interesting to see where everyone stands after the dust clears on Friday night. The guys with a chance to win will be apparant by then.

Looks like Tiger and Phil missed an opportunity to go low yesterday with the rain that soften the course. Oak Hill should play harder the rest of the way making it more difficult for anyone to make up ground.

They did miss an opportunity, but the course is probably not going to dry out today as it's still raining lightly..64-65 should be out there today...the afternoon guys will likely get perfect conditions.

Dropped 1 just recently, but that could happen...he's playing from the short grass, and that will get him plenty of birdie chances....-9 will probably be leading after today if he can keep it going...weekend pressure factor course may dry out some...-9 might win it.
