Game Thread: Penguins get Wild at Consol

Backstrom fought with the Maatta shot, and the Pens bury the loose puck.

That was a brutal hip check, but Kobasew didn't help by jumping just before it.

Pens' defense very involved in the offense early. Maatta took the initial shot on the goal, Bortuzzo hit a post, and Despres just had a good chance in close.

That last sequence involved a lot of really good puck movement, too.

For not playing each other very often, both these teams are really pushing and shoving a lot.

Pens seem to be carrying play early. Their defense have been very quick to get the puck and get it out of the zone, and the forwards are supporting. The Wild can't get a whole lot going as a result.

Those hip checks are very low. That one looked especially awkward, almost from behind, and he got called for it. And the Penguins cashed in!
