I'm not to sure about Dea being ready yet either. Something about him. I agree with you about getting rid of Sill and letting one of the Wilkes-Barre kids stay up.

Good test will how he handles himself down the stretch and into the playoffs, when the intensity ratchets up another notch.

It's really not because Harrington and Doumolin are ahead of him on the depth chart, just that when Pouliot is up, he needs to be in the lineup every night for 17-20 minutes per night.

Being on the taxi squad/injury replacement isn't how you treat your top prospect, but is acceptable for lower prospects like Doumolin and Harrington.

With Pouliot if Martin/Letang or Ehrhoff were to go out long-term then I wouldn't have any issue with him coming up and playing. Especially Martin or Ehrhoff because there is less chance they will be Penguins next year whereas Pouliot would be.

Kind of why I'm not as worried about him not being up now. They are at most going to sign one of those two, and maybe neither, Pouliot will have his chance to take one of their spots next year.

Given the choice I'd keep Ehrhoff though, Martin has been horrible.

Never liked Martin. He gambles at the blue line too much for my liking and he seems to turn the puck over a lot. I thought he really improved at the start of the season, but he seems to have fallen back to his old ways.

I think the Pens are auditioning their defensemen now. Maybe getting ready to pull the trigger on a trade where they'll send someone like Martin or Harrington in exchange for a good wing. I like the way the Samuelson trade worked out. Maybe Rutherford can do it again.

There are times where Martin is a wet noodle, can't clear the zone, can't hold the point, whiffing on passes, not sure what it is about him that he gets in funks.

I'm worried about Maata though, if he is out for the season, which I think is likely at this point, I don't see how they can move Martin. Martin has proved himself to be a good playoff performer in the past.

That is a good observation. Dumoulin has been given an opportunity, and now Harrington is in the lineup tonight.

I think Rutherford would have a hard time moving a guy like Martin to a team looking to rebuild because he has the limited no movement clause, and also because he's essentially a rental for said team and they would have to be counting on him re-signing. JR does have options besides Martin, though. It will be interesting to see what he does.

Skid got all 3 of his shots in one burst...that was it...

I like the solid D of Harrington. Korny was a beast, Malkin is the true star of the team and love the 4th line, if only they could get rid of Adams. Fleury is the Pens best goalie ever!

Rust had 6 shots in 8:52 of ice time, he looks like a keeper so far.

Yep with the 4th line there is no reason not to keep rotating through the WBS players until one sticks and as soon as he starts to slow down you bring another in. Also they truly should use Adams as the 13th forward no reason he should be taking ice time from Rust or others.

BTW...did i miss something with Ehroff last night, he had less than 10 minutes of ice time?

I was in and out watching most of the game.

Can't decide who the best player on the Pens is...

Geno or Comeau?

Certainly not Skid :nono:

I didn't even vote for Skid for the all-star game. I voted for Geno, Seguin, & Girgensons.

I am hoping that Skid comes around when Kuny and Korny are back together, healthy, on his line. That's a lot of hoping! Tis the season!

Skid is just barely better than Goc right now.
