Potential nerve damage, but the tone of the artical seems to suggest that it is not serious.

I am not sure I have ever heard of non-serious nerve damage, but, OK...

I had a ganglion surgically removed from my right ankle about 15 years ago...part of the top of my right foot is still numb from nerve damage, and it's not serious.

My fear with him is that he will not age well because of his weight. It may be some years yet, but if he starts pulling hamstrings and straining intercostals, etc, his recovery times will get longer and longer.

Interesting ... when I was about 25 I had an Ulnar nerve problem. The pain was actually in the shoulder and not the elbow. They tried cortisone and that didn't relieve any of the pain or restore full mobility. That's when they did a EMG nerve tracing of the right arm. That showed that the Ulnar nerve was trapped (impinged) within the elbow itself and the shoulder pain was actually referential. In the end they had to move the nerve to resolve the problem. If I remember correctly I couldn't do much of anything for about 2 months. The initial diagnosis was Ulnar nerve irratation. I think we'll have a better picture in a few days. Irration can be worked with, impingement is another story. It usually takes surgery to correct it.
