Didn't know if anyone had posted this yet. Remember alot of questions asking exactly what our cap situation was for next year

2014 cap is $122 million

Our 2014 Active Salaries as is $135,113,174
Our 20 14 Dead Money as stands $11,781,101

For a total current cap hit of $146,894,675

Roughly $25 million over the cap

Carr will likely restructure ... along with Romo Those 2 alone can get us under the cap ..... but will likely take Ware restructuring again
Or
Free cut .... and/ or Witten restructuring ....

Lee hasnt been paid yet as a millionaire so I don't look for him to restructure in the first new year of his contract.
Cost more to cut Scandrick than to keep him ... but if you spit it in half ... saves not quite 3 million

straight cut Austin it only saves you 400,000 split it and you save not quite 4 million

we will get under .... but dont even expect much in free agency .... Pretty much pray for a solid draft

Spencer 100% sure he wont be back

about 90% Hatcher wont be.

two sides to Hatcher coming back. He's never had a big payday .... so I would NOT expect him to play on the cheap his first year. That's usually something that guys who are already multi millionaires do to try to win a championship.

Gonna be a hella player to lose ... but it may be one of the best things to happen to us if we do lose him.

Jerry's problem has always been over paying guys on the wrong side of 30 .... and Hatcher is on the wrong side of 30.
Having a career year ... he is gonna want to be paid

That's why even he has said he doesnt expect to be back. He know the Cowboys wont be able to afford his asking price

Romo is pretty much going to restructure ..... He has before ... see no reason why he wouldn't again. He's always been good about that
He 21.77 million again the cap alone.
Ware counts 16 million against the cap .... ( but he has already restructured ) Plus there is an opt out after 2015 which would put him here 2 more years (sounds about right) so not sure you redo him at his age

Free counts 6.5

Carr 12.2 ( I think he will redo)
Witten 8.4 (he has redone his and again with his age im not sure you redo him again)

Austin 8.2
Scandrick 5.6

Orton 4.3

Those are your only money makers on this team currently

Smith needs to be resigned and he will count 3.97 next year ... so Maybe you save a few there but not much

every other player we have is cheap

well Lee is 7.5 against the cap next year ..... but he isnt going anywhere ... and like I said I expect him to atleast get that one big pay year before restructuring ..

I honestly think it ends up working like this ...... going back to what I said after the the draft

Williams was drafted to replace Austin ( I know some don't wanna hear Austin will be gone ..... but I think he is)
Webb was drafted to replace Scandrick ..... ( but Webb sucks ..... so not so sure Scandrick is gone) but I think that was the intention

Free so far has looked ok ... so gonna be up to him if he redoes a more suitable deal to stay or if he gets cut but it will be one or the other

Carr restructures .... Romo restructures ..... ( to roughly half of what they are supposed to get) we're under the cap
with a minimal to bring in 1-2 lower million a year type guys .... and sign out draft picks

draft we go D Tackle guard and O tackle ..... bread and butter draft

Restructures and minimum Free Agency has become the norm for us. Nothing new. I just hope Jerry can look 4 or 5 years into the future and try to get the cap under control by then.

there is always the "unspeakable" that no one will want to hear......

With the way Williams has played thus far ( everyone can agree he has outplayed what Dez did his rookie year at this point)

Dez keeps acting like a cry bitch ..... he becomes our Roy Williams .... opposite side of the scenario

I guess what Im trying to figure out is take Costa. 225 k dead money - that means if we cut him - 225k would go against the cap and we would gain 1.5 million ????

Costa is gone ... no question .... he is on a one year deal ... the second year is an option

the cap hit would happen if we cut him post June 1st

the hardest part of the cap is knowing the exact details of the contracts.....

so it's always a bit of a guessing game.

I was trying to keep it simple and stick with the guys that can save us actual money ....

with our situation .... 1.5 million is at the bottom of the list

As bad as some of the QB play has been, whats the chances we could trade Orton for a lower round pick and just go with Romo and a cheaper backup

I sware you act like a bitch everytime you post with that "lame" shit

are you a fucking 14 year old girl?

Dez is fine? Really next year is the last year of his contract.
Our cap looks no better after next year

I EVEN CALLED IT THE UNSPEAKABLE

We shall see all that is Dez through the last of the season.
Austin back ... Murray back... Williams has been great for a rookie

He will have no excuse to not be open .... other than what we have seen in past years..... He's a half a season player. Has been since he came out of college. Half a year he is the greatest thing on the field ... the other half ... you can barely find him.

and name me one year .... that has not been Dez since he has been with the Cowboys. Last year he came on the second half .... before that was always the first half ....
We have never gotten a full year of the "great Dez"

trade Orton NONE

cut him and take the 1/2 very possible ... but doesnt save alot

Same with Free ....

you make them post June 1st cuts .... pay half other goes into dead money for the next year
