God I hope not.

Having lived in Texas for two and a half years now, I've become kinda fond of the Rangers. It would be a shame to see them stumble because of pitching injuries. I'm not saying Santana would necessarily be a good signing, but it's a possibility.

And just to keep this thread on track, it's also a shame that Cruz didn't want to DH for them. Would've been some nice icing on the cake of an already formidable lineup.

Seems to me Cruz is going to be constantly replaced by Lough defensively when the O's are up late.

Yeah didnt cruz help make david freese the world series mvp, 2 outs, hard hit ball that cruz turned a game winning series clinching out into a game tying triple?

That never happened. Therapists have erased that moment from my memory and therefore I have erased it from history.

Never happened!

Reports are he turned down multiple 2-3 year deals. He hurt himself by waiting this long. Kudos to the Orioles for landing him at just 1M more than the Mets gave Chris Young :L

I can't say I view this as anything but meh. Wasn't really that good of a player. Signed for roughly market value.

I don't know how you can view a guy who consistently hovers around 30 HRs as a "meh" player.

This is a great signing for Baltimore. I imagine a lot of teams were scared away because of PED concerns.

Because hitting homers is the only thing Cruz does well. A low OBP/high SLG corner outfielder with average (at best) defense is kind of meh.

For every bit of good he brings with the bat, he brings bad things with the glove. K% is not where you would like it to be either.

Yeah because is a light hitting, exception fielder is exactly what you need in a guy splitting time between LF and DH.

Hitting 30 homers didn't make you a good player in itself. Adam Dunn hits 30 all the time, and I want that guy nowhere near my team.

Wow. Way to miss the point. This isn't an either or proposition.

LOL @ thinking how many HRs a guy hits is relevant to how good a player is. Mark Reynolds must be the best 3B in baseball.
