Weaver takes the ball for his franchise-record seventh Opening Day start and sixth in a row. The 32-year-old right-hander, entering his 10th season, won an American League-leading 18 games last year while posting a 3.59 ERA in 213 1/3 innings.
Felix Hernandez, RHP

The Mariners ace makes his club-record eighth Opening Day start and seventh straight, which will be the longest streak by any active Major Leaguer. Hernandez is 5-0 with a 1.52 ERA on Opening Day and beat the Angels in last year's debut in Anaheim.

Wilson is coming off his worst season in five years as a Major League starter, posting a 4.51 ERA and walking an American League-leading 85 batters in 175 2/3 innings. Over his last 16 regular-season starts, Wilson gave up 51 runs in 76 innings.
James Paxton, LHP

Despite a shaky spring, Paxton has been slotted into the No. 2 spot in the rotation. The 26-year-old lefty has been outstanding when healthy (9-4, 2.66 ERA in 17 career starts) and is 2-1 with a 2.59 ERA in four games against the Halos.

Matt Shoemaker, RHP

Shoemaker came out of nowhere to finish second in American League Rookie of the Year voting in 2014, his age-27 season. Undrafted out of Eastern Michigan University, Shoemaker went 16-4 with a 3.04 ERA and a 5.17 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Hisashi Iwakuma, RHP
The 2013 All-Star would be the No. 1 starter on some staffs (he's 37-19, 2.97 ERA in 77 career starts), but he'll open third for Seattle this year. The 33-year-old is 6-1, 2.75 ERA in 10 outings against the Angels.
