Nobody was bragging or "talking shit". It's a fact that every Canadian team outside of the richest one has had at least one season since 2004 where they full on competed for a Cup.

Talking shit might be throwing the number 1967 and only six teams about.

I mean, I definitely bragged and talked shit when they signed John Tavares, who had more points than any other player on a non-Leaf Canadian team this season except for McDavid, Draisaitl and Schiefele, because that was awesome and JT has done nothing since being signed but be one of the most consistent producers in the league. Who wouldn't brag about that? The last "top" free agent to sign with a Canadian team was fucking Milan Lucic lol.

And hey, maybe if he didn't have Corey Perry's knee drilled into his skull 10 minutes into the first game of the playoffs the Leafs might have held on and made a run themselves instead of total capitulation in the most razor-thin margin imaginable but them's the breaks. LOLEAFS amirite?

Isn't this them basically admitting that the abuse was indeed reported to them though?

I mean, criminal penalties would be nice, but if indeed it was an "open secret" in the team and they did nothing to really stop it and has since totally denied any knowledge then throw civil penalties at them. Anyone who did know needs to get the fuck out of the game and never allowed anywhere near anything hockey related forever. Same for anyone at the league level who may have known.
