That Kris Russell kid is pretty good. What a pass.

He's been overshadowed by Gio and Brodie (and to an extent Dennis Wideman as well), but he's having a fine season for the Flames. Of course I'm biased because I've always been a fan, but he's a quiet leader on the team (and wears an 'A').

Kid's getting to be more of a bargain with each trade.

To St Louis netted CBJ Niki Nikitin.
To CGY netted STL a fifth.

Damn you hindsight and your 20/20-ness

It's a phone hearing, and it seems the issue is with the timing of the hit not the point of contact. I've seen a lot of opinions on it. It wasn't clean because of the timing of it (no idea how it wasn't 2 for interference...refs said no one saw it), but some are saying it's an elbow to the head...which I absolutely can't see after watching a few dozen times. When I see it, I see shoulder to chest and the head snap back, but I'm biased, so *shrugs*.

It was interference. But all of November, in every game I watched, interference was being largely ignored. As were hooking and holding and tripping and most of the other clutch-and-grab infractions. So naturally, you're going to get this sort of hit. When guys get away with simple infractions over and over, they'll push the envelope, and eventually you'll get the sort of hit Bortuzzo laid last night.

I'm guessing 1 game or a fine, should probably be 2 or 3.

Good to know it's not just me seeing the crazy amount of interference occurring nightly. Last night there was just a crazy amount of that ignored. Before this hit happened and Tootoo had Bortuzzo pinned against the Pens bench while Bortuzzo was looking over Tootoo at the play happening. He held him up against the boards for a good 5+ seconds trying to get him to fight, while Bortuzzo just ignored him.

He's no PK Petry (he's much better) - Nice signing by Lombardi.

Dater was fired for being a chauvinistic pig, so that's nice.

That was a tough one to predict. He hit and hurt a legend, however he also plays for the Penguins. Could have gone either way (throw the book at him or just give him a stern look). Without knowing his history, 2 games seems acceptable.

Sounds like that Brian Leetch injury back in the 90s when he 'slipped' and 'fell' on some ice in NYC.

Or that time Brent sopel hurt his back picking up a cracker... Yeah lulz what a story... Oh wait that was actually true
