Durham Smyth - inline TE, H-back - he is being described as more of a blocking TE which will help the Penn-Stater not have to worry about that.

I think this is a bit of a reach for a TE of this kind - but it certainly provides depth to a position that needs it - and adds versatility to the position to do a job our previous pick at this position isn't necessarily known for.

I think the Fins will RB and the trenches at OL and DL the rest of the way.

Kalen Ballage, RB, ASU - big back with upside according to Mayock - Consistency an issue - Tevin Coleman comparison - as well as Frank Gore, who is also on our roster - Could be our change of pace guy down the road to help Drake

The Fins now have quality talent and depth at TE. Durham Smythe is an above average blocker. He doesn't have many catches in his stats but his yards per catch at 16.3 which is very good.

Kalen Ballage is another needed addition. He is a well rounded RB that will help complete the group of RBs for the Fins.

I love that per-catch average - may not necessarily be the ultimate match-up nightmare - but certainly a guy that you can use to help you get creative on offense.

Much like last couple seasons - this draft makes it clear that Adam Gase has a great deal of say on who the Dolphins draft. But, what it also says is that he is putting a target on himself, rightly so, to get the job done as HC - these are his guys - they must respond or he could be in trouble if things don't pan out

Be it on offense or defense, my biggest problem with the Fins last season was that, IMO, too often they didn't stick to their strengths and focused too much on the opponents weakness - I think these picks signals the Fins will change their approach a little more this season and go with what works for them - what their strengths are in order to win games.

It seems like they are done wasting their players talents and abilities and will put them to better use this season -- At least Adam Gase seems to be wanting to take that approach with the offense - whether Matt Burke will be able and willing to do the same with the defense is a different story.
