Four-star 2016 DB Saivion Smith tweets decision to transfer from LSU

One of the most highly-rated members of LSU’s 2016 recruiting class has decided to take his leave of Baton Rouge.

On his personal Twitter account Wednesday, Saivion Smith announced that “[m]y parents and I have decided it’s in my best interest for my growth as a student athlete and young adult that I transfer from LSU.”

Former four-star LB Josh Barajas transfers from Notre Dame to FCS

Illinois State announced Wednesday that Josh Barajas has been added to the Redbirds roster as a transfer. According to the school, Barajas is already on campus “and will join the rest of his new teammates when the Redbirds officially begin fall practice in late July.”

Report: LB Shawn Jennings leaving Alabama

The latest to see its roster pared is Alabama, with al.com, citing unnamed sources, reporting that Shawn Jennings is no longer a member of the Crimson Tide football program. No reason was given for the linebacker’s decision to move on from Tuscaloosa.

Tuesday, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey laid talk of a potential Auburn move from the SEC West to the East at the feet of the media. A day later, that university’s athletic director picked up the talk and ran with it. Hard.

After months of chatter on the subject, Jay Jacobs met the issue head-on at the conference’s spring meetings Wednesday, with the AU AD banging the drum very loudly for his football team to move from the West to the East and Missouri taking their place in the division.

Nothing to see here. Back in the day when I was a Freshman the rule was don't touch elevator walls in the dorms on a Sunday. The frats made the pledges go to the dorm elevators to take a drunken piss Saturday night and my hungover ass dealt with the consequences the next morning. I lived and am guessing 19 year old kids in Pullman will do so as well.

Michigan State corner Kaleel Gaines departs Spartans as part of JUCO transfer

Gaines’ never did seem to catch on with the Spartans after committing to the school out of Florida as a recruit. He redshirted back in 2015 and did not see any action last season as a backup cornerback. The coaching staff did move him to receiver some this spring and he drew some praise from Dantonio but it appears that still wasn’t enough to keep him in East Lansing for the upcoming 2017 campaign.

Kenney Lyke transferring from Michigan State, too; Ole Miss the eventual destination?

On his personal Twitter account Sunday, Kenney Lyke confirmed that he will be transferring from MSU to a Mississippi junior college “to take care of my studies and better my craft until November, per NCAA rules.” At that point, per his Instagram account, Lyke seems intent on transferring to Ole Miss to continue the FBS portion of his collegiate playing career.

The dude failed a GENERAL CONDITIONING CLASS because he didn't workout enough. He wouldn't have been eligible, and had one tackle last year. I'm not that concerned.
