Soriano fucked up that inning. We were one swing away from making it really interesting but he GIDP which probably ended the game

Rough way to start but it was good to see CC settle down after the second inning. Teixeira looked better than he had all spring and Nuno and Betances were just great in relief.

It's only game 1 of 162 guys, long way to go.

Thoughts on today's game? My thoughts are simple.

The first 2 innings sucked and that is where the game was won for Houston.

I was expecting the bats to do more. CC actually pitched well after the first 2 IP

And it looks like I was right. CC is going to have a bad year. We are going to see a lot of ups and downs from him this year but there will be more downs. I see an ERA of a 4.50 from him. By mid season he will move down to being maybe our #3.


He just looked bad. It was batting practice for the Astros. If he had this much trouble with them what you he will do against Boston, Baltimore, Texas, LA. Not good boys

Yes 1 game but it told us a lot about what we will see from CC. Lets hope our other 4 guys in rotation have a good year because CC is done.

Question: How many more years we have with CC?

I think CC will be fine. It doesn't matter if you throw 94 or 89 if you can't locate your fastball. It's not CC has such a great track record on opening day

I just didn't like what I saw from him. I saw this in spring training the only difference is in ST he didn't see a full lineup to hurt him. He will be an Avg pitcher for us this year. He will be no where close to a #1. He will be more of a #3 pitcher for us. Lets hope Tanaka can take over the #1 spot or Nova. Kurodo is a Perfect #2 for. Whoever the #4 for will be a strong #4 and if Pineda stays healthy he will be a strong #5 for us.

Young players on Houston thought the game was over thats why CC looked better. I felt like this about CC since last year. I predict 12-10 season and a 4.35 ERA. Nothing great. It will be ok if the others do their part.

Tex will never be back. He even said it that he will never be 100% again. Tex will be a little better then above avg player now. Honest he really hasn't ever been the same since joining the Yankees. I don't know how he lost how to hit for Avg.

Lets just hope this team stays healthy.
