The one I've seen the most is trading Sweat to the Bears. The Bears get Sweat and the Skins get the Bears 61st pick in the 2023 draft and their 2024 1st rd pk.

This one is ridiculously stupid. Seattle trades their 1st, 2nd n 3rd rd picks (no year given , but I'm assuming 2023 picks) for both Sweat n Young.

I don’t think Poles has any interest in trading significant draft capital unless the haul is great. Sweat is good, not great.

The Bears trade is interesting. I kinda like it.

The Seattle one is a joke.

I agree, I think you have to do the bears trade, we get this year 2nd and a 1st next year which should be a top 15 pick.

Yeah let’s go with clowney

2023 #61 and 2024 1st is a steal.
Look who's been on board at 61, since 2019 when we reached for Sweat

2ndRd#61 - 2019 D.Metcalf, J.Thornhill, D.Johnson, T.Mclaurin
2020 - AJ Dillon, W.Gay, J.Chinn, A.Gibson
2021 - A. St.Brown WR, C.Humphrey -
2022 Tariq Woolen, Coby Bryant, Isaiah Likely, Tyler Allgeier, Abraham Lucas

i didn't even bother mentioning who we passed on in the first of 2019.

Skinsdad, i literally just dropped the mic on you.
But if you wanna hold to sweat and pay him his little 18mil per...do you

I don't think anyone dropped the mic on anyone .... seems to be more of the my balls are bigger than yours. comment

On the other hand if you were the 2nd pick in the draft and you have 9 sacks after three years I would have to think twice about paying Young more money. I know he was injured but be careful about paying him that 5th option. Meanwhile in today's NFL he won't fetch more than a mid round pick

i'm more so saying picking at 61 hasn't been so bad, then you add a 1st rounder in 2024? i'm jumping all over that. These guys aren't Kerrigan and Orakpo

RK was my fave player during his playing days. He didn't record his first double digit sack season till his 4th year and I never thought Rak was anything special. Look at Sweat's stats n RK's stats and Sweat stacks up alright to RK. That's all kinda moot now though with Payne getting paid. 80+ million tied up in 4 DL starters is beyond reasonable. Even having 60+ million tied up in 3 DL starters is not good business imo. So I'm not against trading one of the DEs, but if one is to be kept. My choice would be keep Sweat.

@skinsdad62 is on point though. New ownership is gonna shake some shit up. Short of a deep playoff run, RR may be gone regardless n if Howell doesn't impress or loses out to JB far the starting QB gig goes. He'll likely be looking for a new team as well.

Your last paragraph is exactly why they will not make any such trades. This entire staff is on the clock, they are not trading good players for future picks because they won't be here to use those picks.

I get the Young sentiment. But I can’t help think about Young in his rookie year. We’ve seen him play at a high level. We just need to figure out how to get him back there. His 2nd season was a huge disappointment, but many rookies regress in year 2. The question for me is his injury. If they know something and this injury will affect him his entire career, then you pass on year 5. But if he is healed, then I take a chance on who could be a huge talent, just need to find the coach who can get him back to the level he can be. I extend his 5th year.

I am not sure 7.5 sacks screams high level to me . Good yes , high no .
right now he is the 2nd coming of Clowney

right now I see sweat as the better player

CY will prove his worth this year, just as this fearsome foursome will do. It's year 3 of them ALL being together, finally healthy and ready to roll. I see this group setting an NFL all time sack record this year for a defensive line.

Young = 10 sacks
Payne = 7.5 sacks
Allen = 7.5 sacks
Sweat = 10 sacks

Wouldn't that fall just short of the DLine sack record? Isn't the all time NFL sack record for a DLine 36.5, held by the 85 Bears (Dent, McMichael, Perry, Hampton)?

Chase hasn’t shown me he can sniff 10 sacks , sweat could hit it , Allen and Payne numbers are about right

but the question is if that D/line was that good why wouldn’t you pay to keep it ?

I know we can keep both sweat and young ( Clowney ) money wise but it’s about choices. I keep sweat at this point and let clowney walk

Neither DE has had 10 sacks in a single year. Sweat had 9 one year of his four years.
