How many of the injuries are repeat injuries now where in the past they wouldn't have the chance because their career would have already been over?

Off the top of my head, the only guys who have torn the same knee twice were Sam Bradford and Thomas Davis. This link shows there have been more, but the real eye opener is the total amount of guys done for the year...BEFORE the regular season started.

Patriots LB Dont'a Hightower is out for the season with a torn pec.

Hightower had already been ruled out for Week 8, but he was thought to be dealing with a multiple-week injury rather than a season-ender. According to MMQB's Albert Breer, Hightower's pec was partially torn this spring, and that both dampened his free agent market and caused the Jets to pull their offer. Already struggling, this is a massive blow to New England's defense.
