NFL fixes game so Falcons can win

The NFL just reviewed a play, said; "Nope that doesn't count. And not only that but the game is just over. We decided You lose." I'm pretty sure the guy who made that ruling had his fingers in his ear and said "LA LA LA LA LA" anytime anyone else tried to talk.

What the fuck kind of ruling is that?

If the play was called correctly on the field, it would have been almost impossible for the Lions to snap the ball. I see nothing wrong with the rule. Makes much more sense than basically awarding a team with a free timeout in that situation even though they had none.

Not definitive. It was close at best. You keep the call on the field. And the 10 second runoff rule is stupid.

They changed it after a game like 5 or 6 years ago when a call got reversed and a team got an extra play despite not having any timeouts on which they won the game . I thought it was pretty clear he was down but I'm biased ( as are you ). Maybe some unbiased folks will weigh in

I think the refs were in a tough spot there. Tate definitely looked like he was in the endzone, however, the replays did look definitive that he was in fact short. No one on any network is saying otherwise.

The 10 second run off is something I guess you need to do since the clock was stopped, but it sucks. I love seeing the Falcons win, but that is an awful way to lose if you're a Lions fan.

I don't see anyone saying it was inconclusive except for the Lions fans here. On Fox they are talking about it being a tough way to lose a game, but not that it was a bad overturn.

Any team can down the ball or start a play on the goal line within 5 seconds. Maybe if the team was 40 yards aways. But not at the goal line. It's easy to reset within 1 yard of a TD.
