I get that he has ties to the program but no way is that a better job than UCLA in my opinion.
"Ties to the program"??? Ties to the program is when your grandpa's brother's wife had a friend who went there.

It's his fucking alma mater. He won a national championship there.

UCLA isn't a better job, because he knows Sean Miller owns him and that is never going to change. At least the coach in the BIG that will own him has a recruiting disadvantage (Izzo)

I would stay in the region. Chris Miller at Dayton and Chris Mack are killer coaches. If I was Indiana I would pitch them on coaching at a true blue blood. Both are better than Alford

Not so sure what is so attractive of the Indiana job. Reminds me a lot of the former blue bloods in CFB where they have a lot of history but in 2017 they are not that attractive.

Ever heard of "Hoosiers" Motherfucker?

If they want a guy that will regularly "go deep in the tournament" I don't see how Alford is a serious candidate when he's never been past the sweet 16 and had only made it 3 times in his 20 years of coaching.

I'd try to pry Archie Miller away from Dayton.
