Right now I have eight OFs with two of them playing multi-positions.

I need to be able to make room for some pitchers because I have to bench Zimmermann and Gio until they warm back up and also have a few pitchers benched this week due to matchups(Sabathia vs Tex, Eickhoff at Arizona/Greinke), basically meaning I have to bench four starts this week on top of two DL'd pitchers. This is a doe or die week also for me.

I just picked him up. the reason was his BA and doubles. I need my BA to get back in the .300s. Part of the plan is moving Frazier to the bench except for obviously good matchups. But Granderson and Cain aren't doing all that well lately unless they are at home. Orlando is for the time being while he's hitting well.

With the Zimmermann trade, I have one less starter benched. I should have ten starts when McHugh is cleared.

Personally I have way too many inconsistent hitters. And I need so many of them to contribute in different stats. I need my infield to contribute in double plays. I need a high batting average, doubles. I am strong in RBIs and GWRBIs. I am also decent in power. I ended up dropping Fowler because of too many injuries for Orlando Saturday. And my pitching is not that deep. I have 11 pitchers with 9 healthy. I don't get the Ks and Ws lately. One of the things a lot of people in the league do to protect their BA is play a lot of relief pitchers(non-closers). It's also a K booster as well.

Yeah, well, you don't get what has already happened. Baseball is a six month sport. Dropping Fowler for him was a mistake, imo. Orlando is not a .350 hitter.

Inconsistent is baseball's middle name. You can't get too caught up in slumps or hot streaks. They happen.

Make some trades if you want a change. Adding players that have no long term value won't get you any further than a week.

When you are 14 stats back in the standings, I have to do something. Nos has got me stuck with a bunch of mediocrity like Granderson, Reddick, Sabathia. I can't just wait out the storm and think I have any chance of coming back when things click again.

I don't know what Granderson is worth? Fowler was hurt and was not really doing much anyways for the last month. I'm sure I can get him back since he is hurt.

Sure... but at the same time you shouldn't drop the leadoff hitter on the best team in baseball either. Especially when you have replacement players like Grandy and Upton.

Well with Cain(on my team) on DL Orlando has a chance to to do something. I don't think Orlando is better than Fowler, but he is right now. Fowler has not done anything since early May. I added Scooter because of his BA and doubles. I can't start Frazier every day like I said. I don't have enough .300 hitters to counterbalance his sub .200. I may risk homeruns but Frazier does not contribute enough in BA, double plays, and doubles.

We'll see if Zimmermann gets it turned around.

Btw I dropped Scooter for Chisenhall. All that did was possibly hurt me in DPs. I had often wondered if the best method of replacement is replacing someone with needed stats with better of those stats than replacing a complete non-contributor in said stats. Like I could have replaced Merrifield instead of Scooter.

I don't particularly agree that Reddick is mediocre, although there is always that injury risk. If he is moved to a hitters park by the trade deadline, his value will increase quite a bit.
