With new ownership it is hard to figure which way to proceed , do you add pieces or do you blow it up ? The next couple of yrs will be tellingA few thoughts:
Howell has some skills but needs more playing time and coaching .... I think he is going to have good moments and a few brain farts. Have to wait and see how it breaks out in real games.
Some thought guys like Butler and Mathis might have been wasted draft picks. Both are having pretty good camps. You can not under rate depth. Good teams have depth and you might have to use some younger guys on lower salaries to replace guys who are looking to get paid. You can't pay them all.
I wanted Washington to go CB, OL, OL and maybe OL again. I wanted Joey Porter ... instead we got Forbes. Props to kbso who alerted me to Forbes. As soon as I watched him some on tape I was all in. I don't think RR and Mayhew screwed this up and from all I have hear Quan Martin is a player too. Again, sometimes rookie contracts beat 2nd contracts.
I was not for drafting a TE and I am okay with LBer. We'll play one or two most times.
All that said we know nothing until they play regular season games.
I have always liked JDR and have quickly become an EB fan.
That is all for this year. Who knows what Josh Harris will bring to the team?
Knowing this was largely a lame duck year I am sort of happy with the direction we are going .... for now.

I like what the wizards just did. Leonosis finally cut ties with the grunfield family tree and brought in winger and dawkins to clean it up. The years of mediocrity and below average performance necessitated mass change and a new direction. Will they trade Beal and trade away what they have to rebuild? We will find out in a couple of weeks. The bottom line is that they are doing something to right the ship. My guess is that a full rebuild like OKC is coming as dawkins helped engineer that. With new ownership it is hard to figure which way to proceed , do you add pieces or do you blow it up ? i agree , a winning season and a playoff win isnt enough and it shouldnt be . we have had only 1 back to back winning season here in the snyder era and RR has 0 winning season's here . folklore playoff appearance (1) dont mean anything and we got zero bounce by making the playoffs at 7-9 and dean , cali and others so vehemently said it wouldI like what the wizards just did. Will it work out, who knows. However, at some point, the losing takes its toll and you must look for a solution instead of doing the same thing over and over. Grunfield and Shephard never adjusted their formula for building a team.
I simply don't see why harris would keep Rivera around as he knows exactly what Rivera has done as a head coach and what he has done as a GM. Is this who harris really wants to restart the franchise???
I am not sure a full rebuild is needed but change is needed with every aspect of the organization. A fluke winning season doesn't change the fact that on and off the field, new blood is needed.
