I LOVE the Ron Zook idea!!! Also not a fan of promoting from with in with the coaches we have. Would rather have Stoops in that case. Unfortunately we are going to promote from with in with Poopedhispants.

Innnnnteresting.

Well, one Oklahoma columnist is saying Stoops is going to OU, and another is saying he isn't...........so it's gonna be interesting to see who's wrong.

I honestly don't see Stoops going to Arkansas over Nebraska..........or Washington State over Nebraska. I was listening to him last night on the radio and they asked him "what's next for you Mike?" He said he was going over some options, but ultimately you always want to coach with someone you know well.

Not saying he doesn't already know people at Arkansas or Washington State, but he doesn't know them like he does Bo Pelini or his brother. And I don't see him going to Ohio State to take on a partnership either. To me, there are 2 scenarios that make sense.............1) Venables is out and Mike is in at OU.......2) Mike is in at Nebraska.

#2 just makes so much more sense.........

I agree with this.

I think even getting $500,000 will be like pulling teeth.

lol........people were changing it left and right yesterday. At first it was Arkansas, then someone changed it to Nebraska, then someone changed it back to Arkansas, then I went on and changed it back to Nebraska again , then someone changed it to Tim Tebow's Waterboy, and now someone put it back at Nebraska.......it wasn't me this time though.

I think Stoops would be a fit wat Wash St with Leach. He knows Leach well from their time at Oklahoma. It would be 100% his deal on defense because we all know Leach couldn't care less about defense. The down side is that the PAC 12 is going offense crazy with Leach, Kelly, Rodriguez, Sark, and soon to be June Jones. Would be a tough gig for any defensive coach in the PAC 12.

Just heard a rumor that Venables may be in the pool for a head coaching position at a smaller school

If Venables leaves that doesn't automatically mean Stoops will go back to OU. Although the longer it takes for anything to happen from our side, the more I wonder if Stoops is holding out to see if the DC job opens back up at OU.

I think Mike would jump right in if Venables leaves..........Mike keeps saying he wants to go somewhere where he can win, and they won while he was DC there

Now Auburn thinks they are going to get him. It's amazing how every FBS program thinks they are the same level as every other program.

Undoubtedly we would never get Mike Stoops if there was an actual DC position open at either Ohio State or Oklahoma, because we are not at their level.............but as of right now, there aren't actual openings available........there may be one at OU in the very near future that we just don't know about though.

Do you want to know who the next DC will be? It will go one of two ways. Either a coach on staff will be promoted or we go outside the program and hire someone.

It doesn't sound like Zook is even being considered, which greatly disappoints me. He brings so much to the table it's ridiculous. But again, maybe a price tag that we can't handle comes with that as well.
