I'm OK with it, time will tell if it works out. I can have some hope for a better season going forward for once which is 100% more than Ive had for the last 2 years

The confusing part of it is he is an offensive minded coach and lives in the west coast, or at least heavy passing part of it and that doesn't seem to fit in with at least the traditional Nebraska smash mouth ground and pound kind of game.

MR was ALWAYS looking for "balance" on offense. He would fucking run all day long IF he had that kind of team Whiz, ball control you know...he had good RBs...just ask USC about them.

Every year there are firings, and every year there's this hysterical speculation by fans of teams that are looking, and the fans are all going, "We can get THIS guy, we can get THAT guy..." but the truth of the matter is, there just isn't a large pool of hot, proven, veteran coaches who are looking for work every season.

Most of the hot, proven, veteran coaches already have jobs, and most of them ain't going anywhere no matter which jobs open up. Delusional fanbases think they can pry loose whomever they want. How often does that actually happen?

And when there's this plum job that does open up, is there a line of guys who are already holding down other plum jobs who step forward and say, "I know things are pretty good for me over here at Dream Job U, but I'd just like to say that I wish to be considered as a candiate for Dreamier Job State..."?

Great news... I thought they were going to hire Herman away from TOSU.

This is just a status quo move to help Nebraska not lose anymore recruits. At 61 years old, dude is past his youthful dreams of glory. Have fun with more 9-3 seasons.

Nothing to get excited about. Strange as hell!

Michigan is looking a lot smarter slowing their search down. With Nebraska and Florida making quick moves. Meatchicken might be able to hit a home run.

I'm praying that Nebraska stays there. I'm thinking (9-3's) will be rarities with (6-6) and (7-5's) being the norm.

Those Nebraska fans saying he doesn't know talent because he hasn't put many kids in the NFL haven't taken any time to look at what they are talking about.

Oregon State is probably 11th in desirability right ahead of WSU in terms of the area they are in compared to other Pac schools. And yet he has done a better job there than any of the head coaches at the other smaller P5 schools that I'm aware of.

NFL College Alumni Tracker - CBSSports.com College Football

He has churned out some RB's in his tenure. Rodgers and Steven Jackson among them.

Riley will have pipelines into California and now will have the type of school to make saying no to him impossible. Have patience. He's a great guy and great coach.

I really hope our hire is better than Nebraska and Florida's....Jesus they are terrible hires -- or at least ones I would certainly not be excited about as a fan.

The media likes him because he's a nice guy and PAC 12 fans like him because he wasn't kicking their asses on the regular.

This is the ugly girl with the "great personality" that your friend's wives are always trying to set you up with.

At first I was trying to be positive, telling Cornholers that they have made a good hire.

But now I am enjoying every bit of the fanbase meltdown.

Burn baby, burn
