I was wrong, Florida didn't hire their Brady Hoke -- Nebraska did. Nice guy who is a lower-level coach.

Nebraska fans whining like little girls that Mike Riley is damn near Methuselah at the age of 61 and insist a younger coach would be better are forgetting something: it doesn't make any difference how old a coach is when he's hired because none of them are going to get more than 3 years to prove themselves. Mike Riley is physically stronger than 90% of all American men in their 40's. Get off it. If he is successful he can easily have a ten year run at Nebraska.

I'm absolutely not butt hurt we haven't had anyone named. I'm glad our AD is taking the process slow and evaluating the best candidates. The longer this goes on the more likely it is that its' Harbaugh anyway. If it is him, we'll be waiting until January. No news is good news for us. I hope to god we dont' hire someone like Nebraska and Florida just did.

The media likes him because he's a nice guy and PAC 12 fans like him because he wasn't kicking their asses on the regular.

Ingredients for a LOSER

I respected the hell out of him when his team was beating ours regularly.

His integrity is above reproach. His coaching skills are not in question. He did more with less than any other Pac school.

When programs like Bama and USC have made offers to a guy why on earth wouldn't that carry some weight?

Couldn't agree more. :suds:

There is no reason to rush this, though I am surprised at the speed at which Nebraska moved. Makes me think there was a lot of talking on the DL before they pulled the trigger on Pelini

I haven't seen anyone complain about his age.

I'd have cheered for a Bill Snyder. This guy is a perennial loser.

But I understand he's a nice guy. :suds:

Or a lot of their top prospects flat out said no. Their search reminds me of our search the last time when we got Hoke. A lot of big names tossed around and then all of a sudden Hoke was named head coach. The night before we were all talking about how Brandon was having dinner with Les and that it was basically a done deal.

Well if you buy the reports, most those top prospects weren't actually offered, such as Miles.

That is a good hire. Riley is a proven coach. I have a lot of respect for that guy. The question will be can he *develop at a level to bring Nebraska back

This is the ugly girl with the "great personality" that your friend's wives are always trying to set you up with.

Riley himself denies getting offers from USC. Haven't seen anything about Alabama offering him.

Cut the crap.
