POLL Mid-season Coach of the Year?

Bronco Mendenhall. Going 5-1 with this team is outstanding as I thought that they'd be lucky to win 4-5 games all year.

I went with Patterson but, I do have to say Mendenhall has really turned that team around.

I like Chryst, but Wisconsin came in with expectations to win the West, especially with an easy schedule. The expectation is the only difference between him and 2015 Iowa. Ferentz won it in 2015 and schedules are comparable. But Iowa had no votes in the preseason polls that year.

If Wisconsin goes 12-0 and beat 12-0 Penn State, there is a lot better argument. Ferentz shouldn't have won it in 2015.

yep, and the division looks a lot easier than it did entering the season. Iowa's the only other team in the West in the top 50 per S&P+.

My vote is for Mike Riley. I couldn't be happier with the job he's done.

Scott Frost took over a program with a 0-12 record (2015). In his first year, he coached them to a 6-6 regular season record and a bowl game. In his second year, he has the Knights at 5-1 and ranked. These results aren't from recruiting. This turnaround is from coaching the players he inherited. If it's coaching you wish to recognize, hard to argue with Frost's candidacy.
