Series Thread: Mariners vs Astros, first home series. April 10-12

I missed the game due to work, but it sounds like we may have the heir to the King. I remember at one point it was debatable on whether or not Paxton or Walker were the next in line, and clearly we kept the right guy while turning Walker for some serious talent. I'm not ready to deem Haniger anything at this point, but if he keeps on this pace we may have landed an Adam Jones type haul. Between he and Segura its hard to imagine how Jedi was able to pull that one off when Walker was the only one worth a shit, and even he may never pan out. All of that being said, once the core of the lineup gets consistent this team will do just fine. Of everything so far they are the ones (IMO) that have caused this horrible start, but we have a lot of ball left. Let's make it two in a row tonight!

Paxton is his own worse enemy when he allows crap in his head.
He over thinks situations at times and choices the wrong pitch approach....


I think with him and Walker at the time back then fans ( us) were getting impatient with the development of these two, granted young guys take time, but M's fan's patients as run the course. I hope Walker has a good career, and everything goes good for him, but I don't think he'll be that 1 or 2 starter....

Isn't that crazy? I don't do it often so I can live with it but crazy. Great game to be at though and I didn't have to pay for parking so that saved.

Welp, Segura has been placed on the 10-day DL. We can live with this in the short term if Motter is able to extend his spring into the season, but anything longer than 10 days may be detrimental when considering the cores overall performance thus far.

a lot of people have been complaining that not that many people showed up, but it looked pretty packed to me, about 44k people showed up which is like 3k away from max.

It was a late arriving crowd (probably the traffic as you know was redic), but it looked packed to me as well.

Again 10 day is underplaying a little. These types of injuries are usually 2-3 weeks.

There were also tons of people in the standing areas in center and the landing in LF too, plus the late arriving folks with it being a 2:10 start so guessing some folks had a tough time leaving work early enough to make that. The concourses were crowded pretty much the entire game, too.

Well, we'll see. Severity will drive the timeline. Most often teams tend to be extra cautious this early in the year, and Servais sounds fairly optimistic on the pre-game show. Certainly no reason to sign him up for more DL time until it's necessary.
