Lynch did a lot for our franchise... I enjoyed every year he was here... Beast mode!! Best RB we've ever had..

What did you guys think of Shaun Alexander? I remember Holmgren not feeding him the rock to break a record or 1500 yards?

He was a solid back... But he had SUCH a good O-line to run behind... Alexander did not fight through contact, he was a finesse guy, but I swear he could follow the left side of our line and get 4-5 yard almost every time with Hutch at LG and Jones at LT ... As far as Mike not getting him the record, I actually don't remember how that went down...

I guess to me while Alexander had the better OL Lynch had the much better QB at the helm. Nothing helps a RB out more than having that threat of a guy like Wilson that can take off himself and has a great arm as well.

Interesting.... thanks for that article... I had forgotten about that... I do remember though the very next game he got hurt early and didn't play in the divisional round playoff game vs the Redskins... He also got a big payday after this season and was never the same. I think Seattle made a mistake overpaying when he was kinda getting near the end of his career...

SA was renowned for avoiding contact...EXCEPT anywhere near the goal line. If you put him within 10 yards of the goal line he could run through a brick wall for the score. He just seemed to avoid contact between the 20's for some reason.

The rushing record that year was right in his grasp. He only lost it to C. Martin by one yard. It wasn't like Holmgren wasn't trying to get him the title, he was. Holmgren gave the ball to SA a bunch of times in that last 4th quarter of the year but SA just didn't do much with those carries. The other thing (the bigger thing really) that screwed him was that CMart's game went into OT and he got a few yards in the OT. Alexander only lost the rushing title by one yard that year so he was a bit miffed. lol.

Shaun Alexander was a very good back, but he was no Lynch. Shaun didn't have Lynch's toughness. Shaun didn't like to catch the ball out of the backfield.

Tell me dk why would he be resistant to speak at your guys' SB yet feel the need to interupt this SB with his decision?

No clue. I thought the timing was odd too. I know he just opened some store in California selling his Beastmode stuff so maybe he was looking to cash in on some peak Superbowl advertising time.

My favorite recent RB. I loved the way he handled the media. Fuck the media.

No way the Hawks try to claw that back from him.

Why not? They paid him 12 mil for 500 yds of production last year. No need for a cherry on top if you ask me.

Watters is just known more for his time in Philly and SF. I still bust out his jersey every once in awhile though.
