I’d hate to lose JS, but I see many reasons why this won’t happen. In similar fashion, I could pursue an NFL cheerleader, but the chances of success are similar to JS leaving Sea for Det.

Yea I’m not sure why he’d want to leave Seattle for Detroit

"Says here you're the head chef at French Laundry. Very impressive. How'd you like to come work for us and broil some Whoppers?"

They should try to trade for Howie Roseman instead.

Why would he do that?

Perrenial winner to perrenial loser.
Money, power, and ego.

He could make top GM dollar which he's not making now, have complete control which he doesn't have, and be the guy that built the Lions that have never been to a Super Bowl into a Super Bowl winner and have two Super Bowl winning teams under your belt.

The perennial winner and loser stuff wouldn't matter because he'd have the power to turn them into winners. He'd be in charge of the roster and odds are in charge of hiring the coach.

Not to say any of these things are motivation for him to take the Lions job or another job but there are reasons to take it. Don't know if he's the type of person that doesn't like to move around or if he's the type that once they've been in a place a while they get antsy to tackle a different challenge.

I'd wager he at least floats the idea of him maybe wanting the job to get the Seahawks to give him a better contract.

Are the Lions in the running to land 1 of the 3 prospect QBs this year?

Anywhere from 5-9 based on how the remaining games shake out.

Wonder if Schneider would go after Saleh as head coach. That sounds like a good start to me.

It would be an interesting coaching search.

Why would that help the Lions? The Seatttle drafts in the last 5 years have not worked well

What? As this would be a lateral move, can't Seattle just say no?

Really:

I agree we have had some misses. We have hits, we have had three homeruns in Brooks, Carson and Metcalf
