Doesn't matter though. He's proven he can stop Riley's offense. Stoops has yet to come close to stopping the Scott/Elliott offense.

It was one game and our offensive line was weak compared to elite standards that year. I’m hoping for a rematch now that we’re finally getting our recruiting up to snuff. That was the biggest difference in that game.

After seeing what UGA did, he's got so far to go that I figure it's gonna be at another lower level school before it gets any better for him. OU deserves way better than that.

I have a hunch this is his put up or shut up year.

To be fair the only DC who has honestly shut down Clemson offensively since Scott & Elliott took over the offense was Pruitt in the Sugar Bowl last year. It doesn't matter how much the talent level increases Stoops ain't at his level.

That’s the fucking truth. I still think it’s his last year.

Oops. I misinterpreted this post. 100% agree. Hopefully it’s his last year.

It should be imo. OU is a top flight school and expects NC's but it's not gonna happen with that defense. That offense will get you a long way but, when it comes down to the CFP, you're more than likely gonna need both sides of the ball to reach that end game. Either evolve or get out of the way.

Riley got an eye opening experience from the rose bowl. He for the first time saw how his defense simply would never cut it at that level. In the orange bowl two years before I think he blamed himself and his offense. This year, he had an offense good enough that a top 50 defense would’ve gotten him a title. Unfortunately FUMS couldn’t even deliver that. The talent level has increased significantly the last two years and the 19’ class is no exception. They extended his contract for appearance sake imo. He either makes big strides this year or he’s done I’m hoping.

Mike just needs to get promoted up and out of the way.
"Director of Football Operations" or some such shit.
Just do it.

Just don't give him a job where he can fvk shit up. I remember when he was the HC at Arizona and he was horrible. Just give him a made up title, an office and load the fvk out of his desk drawers with colored pens and printing paper.

Maybe help with recruiting. Some guys suck as coaches but they're great recruiters.

I get the sense Mike doesn’t care for recruiting. I also have it on good authority Riley told the entire staff, “you will recruit or gtfo.”
