I am AOK with this signing. I guess he gets penciled in as our #2?
Yup. Depth is still a concern but our 1-5 is talented

We have Long, Beede, Hjelli and Bednar all as depth for this year (assuming Beede sticks around). I think that is decent depth. The top 5 are locked, though. We currently have 2 1s and 3 3s. That isn’t horrible.

And we now have Jakob Junis!!

The first Hebrew Giant since Pillar. 'Bout phuking time.

(and yes, I know about Gabe Kapler)

I didn’t notice that Junis has a history of starting. I guess that makes his signing make a bit more sense.

I guess he goes in with the inside track on the swing role

Rodon has always worn 55 throughout his career.

He is voluntarily wearing 16 as a Giant.

Well done, Carlos. Way to endear yourself to the fan base on day one.

Matt Boyd -- $5.2M plus incentives. Due back in June.

And I thought Duffy would be the guy they signed and stashed. CarMart and Boyd in the minors along with Hjelle, Long, and Beede. Add in Junis in LR and suddenly we are really deep with SP.

Now, bring me Kemp from the A'ss and call it an offseason.

Per Jon Heyman, Giants close to getting Trevor Story. He's amenable to playing 2b short term.

Wow. This would be a get. Hopefully no more than 3 or 4 years. Salary less important than contract length.

Projected lineup:
Wade LF
Joc CF
Yaz RF
Belt 1b
Story 2b
Craw SS
Longo 3b
Ruf DH
Bart C

Bench: Casali, LaStella, Tyro, Duggar
SP: Webb/Rodon/Disco/Wood/Cobb
RP: Jake/Doval/TRog/Harleen/Alvarez/Leone/Castro/Junis

Not...phuking...bad.

Craw rests or DH, LaStella to 2b, Story to SS
Good OF speed. If DigDug hits he could take CF from Joc

I say we win 108

Seriously, though…

Story has some pretty serious home/away splits. I am not certain he would be a good target.

.880 home vs .718 road

I would be OK with a 2/35 with a team option? Doubt that gets it done, though.

I looked at that and split the difference. I know he's not been great at Oracle, but I think we could expect 800ish OPS from him as he acclimates. Compare that to anyone else we have to play 2b..
