Glad to see they won it. They make room for the Angels to make the top 15 championship draft list. Weird.

Lesson: its hard to win a WS without trashcans or shortened seasons.

Yup. I thought he'd play one more year, but I guess not.

G-dspeed, Buster...you are one of the Greatest Giants Ever.

More money for FAs I guess. Casali and Bart in 2022.

Wow. I too thought it a possibility, but didn’t REALLY expect it to happen (at the gut level).

And since he is retiring, that means the Giants are not on the hook for the buyout, unless they basically choose to give it to him.

With him showing this year that he's still got it and the team looking strong, I was being optimistic and thinking that he'd give it one more go. With the Giants losing to the Dodgers, Dusty coming up short again (which I know some here are happy about), and Buster retiring, this has been a tough three weeks.

I'm with you on that, except I was okay that the Braves won. I would like to see Dusty get a title but its hard to root for him as manager of the Astros. Not so much about the cheating (most members who did that are gone) but because the Astros have a recent title and I like to root for teams with long droughts if the Giants aren't in contention.

and even if they did that, it wouldn't be on their official payroll. But, I'd guess Buster wouldn't take it anyway.

No. Maguire was a 3B/OFer for the Giants in ‘50 and ‘51.
