his ankle is bad and I personally believe he needs to lose ten pounds, that's just my opinion. I'm rooting for him in the worst way but just think he's been over rated to some degree. I think Starks is the better back. I've been saying that for some time.

Lacy has the bad ankle. I don't think he's over rated. I just think they use him and Starks differently. They have different running styles where Starks tends to hit the holes quicker and Lacy feels them out a little more which is better for the zone blocking. Each is decent at catching the ball out of the backfield and both are good at picking up pass blocking but Lacy has that few extra pounds so he holds the edge on that most of the time. At time Starks would be better at pass blocking because he's a little lighter and can move towards the ends faster if one of the tackles gets beat.

First of all, it's Lacy. If you take a look at his production the last 2 years, much of it came in the 2nd half of those seasons. A good part of it might also be that their pass game isn't all that fearsome so teams can play the run "honest" and it's more difficult to run with 7 and 8 up as opposed to 6.

If he is 100%, I don't think he is overrated. He didn't rack up those yards last year by shear luck.

I think he ankle is still bothering him

He's not overrated. However with Nelson being out defenses are focusing on stopping the run and Lacy feels the brunt of that imo.

I know how to spell Lacey but as a Bear fan I'm obliged not to spell Packer players correctly. I hated it when you guys drafted him, I wanted him badly on the Bears. He is killing me on both my FF teams. I'm not sure if I should bench him or trade him. He will blow up as soon as I trade him. I thought the pass game not being as good was costing him with 8 in the box. But I thought maybe check with you guys as you know your team better then anyone. Appreciate the answers guys.

the ankle is bothering him, I don't dispute that, Starks is much more productive right now. When Lacy is healthy I think he's a good solid back but not a great back. It's not like I'm calling him a bust or saying he's bad. What I am saying is right now he's not helping the team with his inability to get through a hole. Believe me I am pulling for him. Starks helped Green Bay win the last Super Bowl and has done everything asked of him. It's just a dirty shame that they lost the kid from UCLA a few years ago against Cincinnati. The Packers have really missed having an elusive playmaking back for some time. Could you imagine if they would have had a Darren Sproles type back to help Rodgers out, someone who could beat a linebacker one on one, or even a top notch tight end, Rodgers has had neither one.

I thinks it's more of a scheme oriented thing. After Lacey hurt his ankle, they went to Starks but Starks is more of a one cut to the back side type of runner and the Pack has altered their up front blocking scheme to accommodate that. That is the exact blocking scheme they used on that 65 yard td run Sunday. Lacey is more of a straight forward power runner and it looks like the coaching staff is happy with Starks at the moment so Lacey gets fewer carries.

I don't do FF because of there are too many stats that can't be accurately figured into the game, such as tackles, those are counted by unpaid stats guys sitting as far away from the play as you can get without leaving the stadium. But I wouldn't trade him at this point, with the weather getting colder, wetter, sloppier and him getting healthy he will play into the Packers play book in the last 10 weeks of the season if he stays healthy.
Also anyone know how long I have to be on this site before I can edit my stuff? Like I can't put in a signature line or where I live. Just wondering.

I've been saying that the lack of a legitimate deep threat is what's slowing this offense. The opposing DBs are playing press a lot more and the safeties are in the box, not respecting the likes of James Jones or Ty Montgomery to beat them deep. The passing game has become a lot more horizontal in Jordy's absence, meaning its tougher not only for the running game, but also for Rodgers quick, underneath passing game.

That's where Starks has an edge over Lacy, because he's more explosive. If the defense sells out to stop the run, Starks just has to find a seem to break a 20 yarder. Whereas Lacy is more effective when the defense has to respect the passing game, and Lacy can break a nice run against 6 or 7 guys in the box and break individual tackles downfield.

Long story short, when Lacy is bottled up, he's going down, especially with his ankle. Starks has the ability to get to the corner and run past defenders when they load the box. When Lacy can take on defenders one at a time, he's the better back because he can break tackles and push forward.

I heard that there was some issue during practice this last week that caused Lacy to sit much of the game. He seemed to have a decent game against the Bears so I was surprised to see him limited last night.
I am hoping to see more of John Crockett, it looked like a had a rocket in his ass last night, the kid explodes through the hole , unlike Lacy and Starks who need so much time to get going. He only had five carries but they were some big yards. Just enough to take the pressure off and give the offense a breath.

The Packers all stay at the Ramada Hotel by the casino across from the Green Bay airport the night before any home game and of course when on the road they are in hotels and have curfews for home and away games.

I just heard on the local Madison sports radio that Lacy and Harris the running back that was cut to make room for Crocket were both late for curfew on Wednesday night before the game over in Detroit.

Lacy is in the dog house apparently and they said the hell with Harris

He's at 260 going for 300. O line player from Dal has a faster top speed than him. Lacey will eat himself out of the league.
