Both Jordan and Kobe didn't truly develop their post game until later in their careers. They may have used it some earlier but for the most part they didn't utilize it until some of their athleticism started to go.

Definitely Kobe. Harden is real close offensively (but Kobe's still better). Defensively, it's not even a little bit close. Kobe has made several NBA All-Defensive teams. Harden has no idea that NBA All-Defensive teams even exist.

Does Harden even come back over the time line when the other team has the ball?

He's actually got a pretty stout frame. I wouldn't completely rule it out. It's not like he's got Curry's body type or anything like that. He's strong enough and crafty enough to at least explore it at some point. It could add a few more years to his career.

Harden doesn't need a post game. It would add another facet, sure, but why?

His ability to play in space is far more efficient than he could ever be in the post. If he slows down and can't beat people off the dribble anymore, then maybe someday. Not anytime soon though.

Just to give different looks to a defense. Potential to rack up foul totals on opponents. Doesn't have to be a complete low post game either, mid post works just fine with his skill set.
