There was no way that Lebron wasn't already playing up to his full capabilities to that point. To suggest he went "harder" because of that comment would be a dumb assertion. It's the NBA finals. There's no way you're not already getting Lebron's best.

i think this is a ridiculous statement. You do not think that guys get extra motivation from slights, perceived or otherwise?--- hey- he talked shit up 3-1 and he it came back to bite him- ill guarantee you if the situation presents itself again he keeps his trap shut.

yah Jordan always played up those slights because they meant nothing because he was already playing at his highest level....cmon man.

On an average day during the regular season, absolutely. During the NBA finals, there's no way in hell. If you're suggesting that Lebron needed that extra motivation, or that it provided extra motivation, you're doing a huge disservice to Lebron and his work ethic and competitive drive. Saying MJ didn't need the motivation, yet Lebron does is probably the biggest slight anyone could say about him.
