You mean failed at 2. He didn’t fail at Tennessee.

He lost to lowly Auburn and UCLA teams the year he coached at Tennessee. However, he beat good Georgia and South Carolina teams to make up for it. Also that typically happens in a coach's first year. They lose games they are not supposed to and win some that they are not.
