I think Kiffin will be a better fit at Ole Miss than he would have been at Arkansas; but he might have been better off going for the Missouri job. Or waiting a couple of years for Texas to open up again.

But, seriously, at Ole Miss you have to compete against Alabama, Auburn, LSU & Texas A&M every year, and Memphis, too, on a pretty regular occasion. On the plus side, the state of Mississippi turns out a lot of good football players every year; but you have to contend with LSU, Alabama, Memphis & Mississippi St. for their services. The school has long had a pipeline to some of the better players coming out of Memphis, but still has to contend with UT, Vandy, and Memphis to get them on campus.

Ole Miss sometimes rounds up a few second-tier players from the state of Alabama, too. Those pipelines would be harder to establish at Arkansas or Missouri.
