I doubt it DJ. Popovich so hates the Lakers that after all the talks, he pulled the plug. Popovich wanted the entire kiddie corp (Ingram, Kuzma, Randle, Hart) AND two number ones. Geez, why don't you just send this knucklehead the whole frikin' roster. Magic said no to Kuzma and Hart and his final offer was Ingram and a number one from Denver that they thought they had by shipping Ball and the Deng contract.

Considering you'd probably also have lebron.

Kuzma Ingram and Randle should all be no brainers in this deal.

I like keeping Hart because he can play a JR like role as outside shooting for them.

Dont' overrate your kids when it comes down to getting a truly elite player.

Say what you want, PG has talked for a year about wanting to be a Laker,

Actually, I don't believe he ever specifically said the Lakers. he said he wanted to be in LA.

Additionally, he has said, almost from when he landed at the airport that he was blown away by how he was received by OKC and their fans. He has said all along that it meant a lot to him.

Everyone, including most OKC fans, assumed he was comong to the Lakers. The only ones who didn't were PG and Presti.

I'm talking about thinking you're going to keep Lebron in-line like the rest of the players. You haven't been paying attention to the last 5 years if you think that way. And if you don't want Lebron, there'll be another team that gives up some control to him.

Exactly. The Heat didn't allow Lebron to run things like he did in Cleveland both times, but you can be damn sure that they consulted with him on things.

Just like the Lakers did with Kobe and any smart team does with it's superstars.

Would a Sixers team with Kawhi, LBJ, Simmons and Embiid be even money with the Warriors as favorites for the NBA Championship next year?

Not if they don't get a couple of shooters.

And Westbrook, who knew when he planned his party.

Philly needs to toss in Fultz though if they want it to happen. I can't imagine SA taking Covington, Saric, and picks (even if one of them is that unprotected Heat pick). Any deal the Lakers put up if it includes Ingram would be better and I think SA would suck it up and take it.

Sixers FO won't give up Fultz.

I go back and forth on this.

IMO, Fultz could become the best PG in the league. The narrative of Fultz, IMO, is far worse than the player.

OTOH, if we could get Kawhi for Fultz that is a trade you do.

OTOOH, it would really suck to lose Fultz for a 1 year rental.

Not a spurs fan or hater so this is a legitimate question. What are the chances that Leonard used the whole injury thing to move his free agency forward a year?

I guess the Spurs have had better luck than most with guys being loyal. This was probably long overdue.

That's why you don't do the deal if you're the Sixers. With the Sixers being high on Fultz, they should only give him up if Kawhi agrees to an extension first.

According to what I heard, the Sixers offer is Covington, Saric and a couple of picks. The Spurs are insisting on Covington, Saric, Fultz and, I believe, 3 picks.

From the Lakers, they are trying to get Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, 2 picks and 2 swaps.

If they stay on those demands, they're going to end up losing Kawhi for nothing.

The trade would only happen if Kawhi signs a 3yr extension. Can't give up that much for a one year rental player who already has his mind made up for LA. I would love to Kawhi next to Embiid and Simmons but need that signed extension first.
