Is it official?... I just got off of work and saw it was being worked on... (which is definitely good news, price seems in the reasonable range)

Yeah, that's my point.
I still think he ends up with the Lakers next Summer.
But, Masai ain't eating Deng....lol
They might as well have kept Derozan if they are going to eat a Shit salary.
F yeah.
The Lakers are in the West which made a trade to them highly unlikely.This.
And I've been saying that Pop was NEVER going to trade Kawhi to the Lakers, that was beyond wishful thinking. On top of that, I was always told that the Lakers offered the best package. Well, the Raptors just traded an all-star to the Spurs (more players are going to be announced in the trade).
With which deal?long term he'd still be saving a year of bloated salary.
With which deal?
Yeah...They'd have to take back Kawhi's salary within 75 %.Idk if they can add both Kyrie and Butler unles toronto takes on some salary.
Sure.Deng v Derozen...just basing it on your shit salary contract.
In the end of it all.
They'd still be paying less money for less years.
...anything can happen and I'm not trying to Shit on the Raptors.Just gonna keep this in mind all year as people bleat about how Kawhi's going to go to the Lakers next summer.
Paul George: I Wanted to Join Lakers Last Year, But They Didn't Trade for Me
Sure.
But, they already have Demar off the books.
Why would they add Deng's albatross of a contract?
Unless you think getting Kuzma is worth a year of Deng?
I don't.
I'd rather let Kawhi walk.
...anything can happen and I'm not trying to Shit on the Raptors.
But, OKC has Russell Westbrook.
You have Kyle Lowry.
Lowry is no Westbrook.
Apples and Oranges...
Or
Maybe Oranges and tangerines at best.
I think you underrate DeRozan. He’s a very good player. Given the situation, I think San Antonio did a great job in this trade.
Again: What is Toronto's incentive to do this?it's one year of commitment and deng expires when everyone else does. It wouldn't affect their cap situation really at all. It's just more money for one year when they already woudln't be a player in fA.
Again: What is Toronto's incentive to do this?
You have yet to answer that question.
If he walks for nothing, they are still a bit over the cap.
If they add Deng they are paying the luxury tax.
You think they are willing to pay the luxury tax to add Kuzma and likely miss the Playoffs?
Bobby Marks, ESPN: Here are the financial implications for Toronto by acquiring Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green: The Raptors now have a payroll of $139.1M and a current tax bill of $29.8M. Danny Green is in the last year of his contract with a cap hit of $10M. Leonard will have a cap hit of $23.1M (including the trade bonus) and has a $21.3M player option for 2019-20. If Leonard elects to leave as a free agent in 2019, Toronto will have $101.6M in guaranteed salary and will be over the salary cap based on the team options of Pascal Siakam ($2.4M), Malachi Richardson ($2.6M), OG Anunoby ($2.3M) and $7.6M free agent hold of Delon Wright.
He's an idiot if he sits out and then expects to get max deals after sitting out two years. The best offer he'll get after two years sitting out and 29 teams thinking they have no interest in him and 2 teams have all the negotiating power will be the one year player option from Toronto
I think you misunderstood me then. I said they would have a harder time than the year before (I was right) and that the Rockets would be their biggest test yet (also right). I said this year would be the hardest of all, but that was before getting Cousins. I think this year will be like last year, not a cakewalk like 2017 but the Finals will be the test. The Rockets are a bit worse.and the Celtics will be a tougher out than the Cavs.Feeling better now?
At the start of this past postseason you were feeling rather vulnerable.
