He had a great year last year, but C'mon, he shouldn't be asking for $16M per season. That is 14% more than guys like Peterson, Revis and Sherman make, and those guys have been great for more than just one season.

This is what makes it so hard to keep a great team together. Carolina built a SB contending team and then suddenly players start thinking the teams success was all about them and they want all the money in the world despite the fact that it will likely weaken their own team and weaken their chances of winning in the future.

Report: Josh Norman wants to be NFL's top-paid CB at $16M a year

Considering Janoris Jenkins signed for about 14 mil a year, I think Norman has every right to ask for that much or more...

I could see him asking for the same pay as the top QB's (but even that might be a stretch based on just one great season), so that would put him at about $14M. Demanding $2M more than the highest paid players at the position is a reach. It's all about ego with these guys lately. They equate highest paid with being the best. It doesn't always work that way though.

He's the best gum flapper in the NFL playing his position.

I don't think he's the best at CB though.

I don't see a problem with that.

This is how things work in the NFL. You're only the top paid guy until the next guy becomes a FA. And it's early in negotiations, of course he's telling the team to jump high.

A lot of exec's realize this. That's why they give them the most money, back ended so they never see that money. I guess it's easy to be an arm chair QB but Give me more guarenteed and less overall and I'd be much happier.

I agree...The overall value is really for the sake of the agent, so he can run around and say I negotiated a 100+ million dollar contract(or whatever it is). The guaranteed money is what the contract REALLY comes down to...

This is why it's hard to stay on-top ..... So many players think "they're" the reason your team had success, when it reality they're PART of the reason you had success, NOT the full reason ... TEAM game ...

Carolina should trade him.
