Gotta chime in.

Texas will pay Mack Brown his hush money. Didn't Mack Brown already threaten Texas by talking about how Texas does stuff if Mack was forced out? Mack Brown won't do jack diddly other than shake boosters hands for $1,300,000 per year. Around 2016, he won't even show up to do that.

I believe Joe Jamail, Mack Brown's attorney, is going to give Texas $500,000,000 when he dies. To pay Mack Brown another $5,000,000 through 2020 in hush money to keep Jamail happy is a done deal. Texas will do anything to keep Jamail happy.

I really don't get Jamail. Is he taking his 30% from the 1.3 million for his negotiating fee? If so, then he will just turn around and give Texas another $10,000,000 this year anyway. I guess Jamail just likes making deals and having attention as an 84 year old that wears a toupee.

Brown has done all of this, by being out of touch with football, reality and the fans.

He's blamed his hand-picked coaches and his hand-picked players, but not himself. He's caused all of this.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I'm really surprised by this. Mack has made 5 million a year for the last few years and has done nothing on the field to earn anything close to that. I used to think very highly of him as an individual. Not any more. I have to go back to my original statement that "he is going to end up being run out of Austin."

Husker, a lot of what you say may be true. Who knows, but this is a perfect example of why boosters like Jamail's should not be involved with the university on this kind of level. It's a no win situation for the university. If you want to give money WITHOUT strings attached, then thank you for your support. Now sit down and shut up.

Chiming. I'm seeing claims of breach of contract from the Sir Hugsalot Brown camp. Is this due to Texas contacting Jimmy Sexton earlier this year, or is there more to it?

I've grown tired of the likes of Jamail. After the Baylor game, he came out and threw Case under the bus, saying "we cant win a game like this without a quarterback" and stuff like that. And Mack never defended his QB, not a word.

While anyone who knows anything about football can see that the team is limited by Case, and that he is not a top level quarterback, that 88 year old blowhard should STFU and quit belittling the guy in public, and Mack should have said something.

In today's Austin American-Statesman, the report said Patterson is vetting coaches, and it looks like the list is: Fisher, Briles, Strong then Franklin.

A contact of Briles' said that "if he is offered the job at Texas, he would take it." Briles just signed an extension and has a 4 million buyout. A UT source reportedly said " the buyout is a little daunting", whatever the hell that really means.

The article also said, that Patterson has not talked with the search committee, the committee has not met, and will probably never meet. Says Patterson is going to do this himself. He has used a search firm to help in the vetting process.

I've got this feeling that Sooners are scared of the next HC at Texas, because they know he'll be better than Mack.
