Of course, UT has now denied it, said Mack will meet with Board of Regents, president, et al, on Thursday. Also, he is reportedly in Miami visiting a RB recruit.


Chip Brown, who also broke Deloss Dodds' retirement story, also had that one denied. Several weeks later, it turned out he was correct.


So, I guess we wait.

We got 4* DT(#2DT in Texas) Zaycoven Henderson to commit on Monday. He says he doesn't care who the coaches are, he's coming to Texas.

yeah, the dead period for recruiting starts Dec 15, so that will put some pressure on these decisions.


Just read that the 2013 UT Football banquet, scheduled for Friday, will be a celebration of Mack Brown's years at Texas.

Supposedly Mack Brown is in Florida recruiting today, and hasn't seen the story or knows anything about it.

However, these kinds of things does show how shitty journalism is these days.

I did a search for Mack Brown and this was one of the first results. It's CBS with a story and cites "Horns247.com" rumors.

Really? That's journalism? And then because CBS reports it, well people think it's credible and other people are also saying the same things. Maybe it is, or maybe it isn't. But it's all based on rumors and it's pathetic how "legitimate" news stations run this crap without real sources.

The source I'm going with, is Chip Brown of Orangebloods. He has been covering UT for, 15 years? or so. He was also a beat reporter for Dallas Cowboys.


He also broke the Deloss Dodds retirement, and UT denied it for weeks. Then Dodds announced his early retirement.


Chip Brown would NOT have put the story out there if he didn't have multiple, credible sources. If he says it, and it's not true, his career here would be ruined.

All in all Mack Brown is a good guy I knew his brother Watson when he was in Birmingham and he was a great guy also. It's definitely time for him to retire, and he can do so comfortably, but he should be remember fondly by the UT faithful.

Agree....Mack has done amazing work and had a career lot's of coach's wish for, but it's time for him to take his millions and peace out. Live in an ocean front property, fish all day, hunt during season, a mountain mansion cabin and bang some Taiwanese hookers.
