What a dickhead remark. Mack Brown earned that billboard for the service he put in.

It's kind of like the Heat paying for championships.

Ahhhh, still butt hurt the Heat are much better than the Thunder?

Three years in a row in finals > Thunder never winning anything

he might be retiring, but he seems like he's trying to milk it for all it's worth....

Texas Longhorns coach Mack Brown negotiating for more money in buyout, report says - ESPN

Texas coach Mack Brown is negotiating for more money when he leaves coaching to take on a new role at the university after the Longhorns' bowl game, according to a report in the Austin American-Statesman.

Brown's contract says he will receive at least $500,000 a year through 2020, but he's seeking as much as $1.3 million a year as special assistant to Texas president Bill Powers, the newspaper reported, though a school official said that request would not be approved by the university's regents.

"They haven't approved it yet," said Joe Jamail, Brown's attorney. "That price has not been agreed on."

Brown's contract says the $500,000 annual salary is a minimum amount.

Brown resigned Dec. 14, but will coach in Monday's Valero Alamo Bowl against Oregon.

Texas has just made a clusterfuck of the entire situation.
It could have been handled better, is an understatement.

Brown has done all of this, by being out of touch with football, reality and the fans.

He's blamed his hand-picked coaches and his hand-picked players, but not himself. He's caused all of this.

and what does any of that have to do with the fact that the University didn't handle it very well at all.
everything should have been done behind closed doors months ago, if what you say is the case.
it wasn't. all the dirty laundry was out for everyone to see.
Texas fucked it up, plain and simple.

the transition could have been made with class, but Texas chose not to do it that way.
