When they let a temporarily overrated qb that led a revolt against our American Flag and disrespected every life that was ever given for this country, all for his own hatred and greed.....
Turn around and file a collusion case against them because he was to much of a scrub to get a job and blamed it on them....
Then they cave and pay him off....
1. He could never prove his case in 100 yrs, but for some reason the NFL didn't want investigators snooping around their cash cow....
2. They have to know that by settling with them, people will think they were guilty.
3. Why do you think they settled ????.....Are they hiding bigger dirt ?????

Hey it's the off season and the AAF games are terrible.....:dhd:

They were afraid the lawyers would dig up something embarrassing, not necessarily related to this case and you never know what a jury would do. You subpoena a few owners, you dig up a picture of one of them in black face from the 60's and all hell breaks loose. If any of the owners are from Virginia there's bound to be a few racist pics out there

You nailed it. The NFL doesn't want an endless and all encompassing investigation based on nothing, so they fold. Strong people like our President fight that bullshit head on.

Looks like it's open season on the NFL. Time to accuse them of r*pe and get some cash money.

Why settle?

The vast majority of cases don't go to trial, so getting "settled" is normal way most of these cases end. You suggested he could never prove his case in 100 yrs...it really doesn't matter....a public collusion trial...even if they won the case, what positive can come out of it for the NFL? They were better off paying this guy off to shoo away.

Smart move by the NFL. I myself started gathering and hiding dirt in my storage closet a few years back. I imagine it will at some point become relevant and highly valuable when the nukes land and contaminate unsecured soil. Got about 1,528 pounds of dirt in stock. Feel good about it.

I disagree....Most small claims are settled out of court for those reasons but high end cases, while aprox 70% is still settled out of court, it is because one of 2 things....Either the defendant does not think they can win the case, ala guilty, or it would cost more to defend themselves than to settle...
In this one however, the NFL who constantly boasts of their reputation and things done to jeopardize that gets fined and suspended, now have raised question to that mantel on every level...
It hurt them and justified Americas #1 hated NFL player in the process...IMO

do people really not get settling means EACH party got less than they wanted? There is no proof this 60-80 mil number is true, and even if it was, to 32 billionaires, that's a pimple comparing to spending time in depositions and court rooms paying attorneys for their time.
