I'll give you Brady, although I don't think so....but to put Ryan ahead of Rodgers is insane IMO. Did you think Cam Newton was better as well after last year? Rodgers is still the best QB in football, and one year doesn't make any difference really.

As for Rivers, I think you can make the case that he's the best QB from his class.
how? how can he be the best qb from his class? explain

As soon as he put Rodgers above Brady I stopped reading there, even Rodgers said Brady was the GOAT. It would be like saying that Marino is better than Montana, even though Dan has 0 . Ben has a real good playoff record , been to 3 SB's and won 2, Rivers has been to 0. Only a few years back Ben had 2 six td games back to back, amazing

Yeah, how do you forget that J.P. Losman was drafted in the first round that year too?

All kidding aside, Rivers does have the highest completion%, TD%, lowest INT% and highest passer rating of the three QBs that are in the discussion. But his stats are so close to Ben, you would have to ignore all postseason success and team success in order to put Rivers over him.

Between Rivers and Eli, the stats are further apart, but it would depend on how much you weigh Eli's postseason performance. Especially 2011 when he put together 4 straight good to great games. Even 2007 he put together a damn good run.

Why not? His numbers are as good if not better than anybody from that class. It's certainly not Rivers' fault that the majority of his career he's been on a .500 team, and I'm not stupid to think that SB's period should define anything in regards to his career and how good HE actually is.

Career arc was different than Big Ben, though. Big Ben did most of his playoff damage when he was more of a game manager. What separates the two is Ben's win against the Cardinals in the Super Bowl where Arizonas gameplan was to let Big Ben throw as much as they could because they thought he was the weak link.

From a statistical standpoint, you'd definitely look at Rivers and say he was the better player but Ben was clutch and clutch matters at QB more than almost any position in sports.

This thread was mostly about a small window of time. Like a couple of games. Never really meant it to be a career thread because even at the time Rivers had stunk it up for a couple of seasons.

...and when QB's 'get it done' with a day such as 9-21, 123 yards 0 TD's and 2 ints, that tells me all I need to know.

Rodgers has been better for years.

He'll be taking a victory lap soon.

Sure he has :L :suds: One QB is down 10 points in 4th in SB and team wins and 22 in 4th this year and wins. Another QB is up 16 to Seattle in NFCG and loses

AV looks good though !!! Props Smitty
Let's not forget giving Ryan credit where it's due.

He kept up the tradition of MVP QBs coming up small when it matters most.

I don't think anyone is saying that SBs period should define anything. But Ben and Rivers have nearly identical stats, so it's not like people who advocate for Ben are simply going by Super Bowls.

You can look at just the Super Bowl in 2005, but you also can't ignore the three games that go them INTO the Super Bowl. Completed 68% of his passes for 680 yards, 7 TDs and 1 pick. Plus he ran for another TD. So that's a 124.8 rating plus an extra TD, and that was all on the road.

Because they are so close in stats, that playoff run alone gives him the edge over Rivers for me.

2011-2013 Rodgers was better. 2014-now? I'd take Brady.

And career-wise, Rodgers has played in 100 fewer games. Can't put him over Brady yet.

Oh, a Pats fan who'd take Brady!?!

Shocking.....
Over the last three years, Brady has more yards per game (even including rushing yards), Rodgers has an extra TD every 7 games, Brady has the higher completion%, lower INT rate (slightly), more Air Yards per attempt, and the higher passer rating.

He's also put together an excellent playoff run in 2014 and a damn good one in 2016.
