Nice to see some Laker fans at least exploring the possibility of building a team instead of buying one.
he certainly COULD be a bust, but i'm not seeing that happening. imo there's too much potential in this kid for that to happen. just sayin'...
Steve Nash and Steve Blake will start tonight for the Lakers. How exciting!
I think Jordan Farmar is playing too. Now all the PG's want to play all of a sudden.

Job number one for the Lakers is to dump D'antoni. The guy is a terrible fit for the Lakers.

It's rarely one or the other. It's takes a combination which is what the Lakers will have to do. Build this summer using their 1st rounder. Buy (don't like that term for signing FAs) next summer using their cap space.
We are not that patient
If Kobe really wanted a legitimate chance at a championship then he would have signed for half of that 24. 12 to 15 million would have given the Lakers many opportunities

Haha. This notion that the "right" way to build a team is through the draft, rather than free agency is the biggest bunch of BS to ever get so much traction.
Every owner in the league (well maybe not Gilbert) is trying their hardest to "BUY" a championship, whatever way they can. That's kind of the whole point. Pay some players that you think can help your team win.

How long has Cleveland been building through the draft now? They've had something like 6 1st rounders the last 3 drafts and are still horrible. There is no "right" way to do it.
