Is Cincinnati underrated?

I'm sure it's their conference, but they get little to no attention. They're very, very good this season. Mick Cronin is doing a hell of a job. Would you want their team to play them in the tourney?

I actually think they're a little overrated, at least based on where they're ranked in the AP/Coaches Poll. The conference certainly isn't doing them any favors because it's atrocious this year, so that's probably why they aren't getting any publicity. Even if they win out, I don't think they should get a seed higher than a 3.

Cincy is a good team, but I think they are ranked more than appropriately. They really only have 1 signature win. You are correct in that their conference is the most likely reason they don't get a lot of coverage. I would be fine with UVa matching up with Cincy in the tourney.

Right now bracketology has them as what looks like the top 4 seed, which is fairly generous if you look at the other 4 seeds...

UVA, Wisconsin, UCLA.

They beat Xavier and lost to Butler, both games I watched. I think if they were still in the Big East they would be in 3rd to 5th place, which would be good for a 6 seed or so.

So, if you think about it, being in the American has helped them in my eyes.

If they can win out though, a 3 seed is appropriate. I think they'll lose a couple more timmes.

With them they've been supposed to be good in the past and they end up disappointing. I don't think they should be a 3 seed. A 5 or 6 seed may be more appropriate for them.

I think their only potential remaining loss is their next game at SMU.

I believe a 4 seed seems about right.

This years team is different in that it can score. The defense has always been there, but they had trouble scoring at times. I guess we shall see...

In pickems I have SMU winning...only because they are home. But it's really a toss up. In conference they both have the same basic record with UC winning a close one over SMU at home.

But beat SMU this weekend and I think you'll see a bump in rankings.
