Let's not forget that Brady missed an entire season so don't forget to wipe out one season of stats in the prime of Joe's career.

Joe probably would have struggled with all the personnel, coaching and game plan changes that Brady turned into success. Joe was a pretty small dude and that was a problem for him at times.

In any case, if we're talking about the modern game, we're really just talking about two quarterbacks at this point.

Rating QB's is just subjective in my opinion.

Brady has accomplished everything Montana did and some. Maybe you should take your own advice.

Hammer makes a comment and thread blows up by 7-8 pages.

So funny how he can bash on the Pats or Brady and have a thread just blow up.
It's how he pays the bills. He should change his screen name to Machiavelli, the devious bastid.

Joe missed half the 1986 season with a back injury if I remember correctly?

Brady had the most rag tag WR, TE and RB's and almost all different on every SB win.

its not arguable, Brady is the best winning QB ever in football.

It's arguable still but IMO its narrowed between Tom and Joe.

Agreed. The two candidates are close enough that reasonable people can disagree about the significance of differences in:

  • Rules and their enforcement.
  • Equipment (e.g. sticky gloves).
  • Teammates.
  • Player size/speed.
  • Complexity of schemes (offense and defense alike -- it's an arms race between the two).
  • NFC/AFC parity.

Absolutely. At this point either Brady or Montana as the best ever can easily be defended. Just looking at their SB performances alone there's something about Montana and his perfect record in the Superbowl without an interception but Brady SB accomplishments are far from shoddy. This last one was a great example even though he had two interceptions but that 4th quarter was one of the best evah.

13 for 15, two TDs with a Passer rating of 140 in the 4th quarter.

Of course he was MVP. Without any of that, Butler's a spectator to the Hawk's repeat.

Joe Montana? 4 time SB winner?****

Yep. He won with the help of a receiver who just confessed to being a worse cheater than anything the Pats have ever been seriously accused of.

Is Brady the best QB? In the same way that Bobby Bonds is the best baseball player.

Oh God, let's not bring baseball into this. Only two guys play at the same time.
